Behind the Scenes: Creating a Hand-Drawn Vector Illustration in Adobe Illustrator

Creating a polished vector illustration is much more than producing a finished image—it's a carefully planned creative process. To give you a look behind the scenes, I've created an animated GIF that reveals every stage of the artwork, from the first vector shapes to the completed illustration.

Unlike a simple time-lapse, this animation highlights how the illustration was constructed step by step, showing how each element was added, refined, and balanced to create the final composition.

Every Element Was Drawn by Hand

This artwork was created entirely in Adobe Illustrator using a traditional vector illustration workflow. Every path, anchor point, curve, colour, gradient, and detail was drawn and refined manually.

No AI-generated artwork was used in the creation of this illustration. Every creative decision—from composition and colour selection to the smallest finishing details—was made by hand throughout the design process.
