See the opening hour of a new car design, sped up into 30 seconds.

To begin, I work in Adobe Photoshop, using a detailed reference photograph. I create precise clipping paths to manually trace the outline of the vehicle, capturing key elements such as doors, wings, and windows, as well as the defining shapes of shadows, midtones, and highlights. These paths are then transferred into Adobe Illustrator, where the illustration truly comes to life.

In Illustrator, each individual path must be carefully selected and filled with colour. This is a gradual, layered process, where the illustration is built piece by piece—from door handles to lights, wings, doors, and the roof—until the vehicle is fully formed.

My recently completed Fiat 500 illustration, for example, is composed of 20,727 anchor points (effectively 20,727 clicks of the mouse) spread across 51 layers.

The accompanying video condenses the first hour of work on the Fiat 500 into just 30 seconds. The final piece, however, takes many hours to complete—a true labour of love.

Once the car illustration is complete, it’s transformed into a poster design available in three sizes and both portrait or landscape formats, ready to purchase from my online shop.
